5 different types of bulbs for home decoration

Bulbs are essential basically for everything in the house. They have been illuminating our space, our room, our work office, our homes, and even our buildings. Bulbs have been doing this since Thomas Edison gave them life and existence. That all happened in the 19 century.

Now in the modern era, after 2 centuries, there have been many fantastic developments and changes in the bulb. Their efficiency is increased, the design is improved, their quality is enhanced, improved of light quality, the amount of energy consumed is reduced, and so much.

Still, whenever we hear or think about the word 'Bulb,' we usually carry just one specific image in our brain. Still, we may have forgotten there are many bulbs in different shapes, sizes, elements, materials, voltages, and so much more.

Below are 5 common and straightforward types of bulbs that are essential for home decoration. You can find these 5 types of bulbs on home and décor magazine as well.

1.        Incandescent bulbs

The most common, simple, and used bulbs are the incandescent ones. They are famously found in any shop or departmental store. The working mechanism in these bulbs is the filament glows caused when the current passes through the tungsten.

This illuminates the bulb. Tungsten is a filament type surrounded by nitrogen gases or a vacuum. These bulbs come in different sizes, which include other components such as candies, GLS, mushrooms, or globe.

The lifespan of this bulb is said to be around 700 to 1000 hours of working.

2.        Fluorescent lamps

You can say that fluorescent lamps are the next step in the evolution of incandescent bulbs. They are complex, contain tubes, and the electric current now quickly passes between the cathodes and contains mercury in them.

The gasses erupt inside it, which radiates the energy as well. These fluorescent lamps consume less energy and give a brighter level than regular bulbs. And last a bit longer when compared to them.

3.        Compact fluorescent lamps

These are known as CFL and are famous for their energy-saving attribute. Their lifespan is nearly about 10000 hours working. Their working mechanism is the same as the above lamps, but it now has multiple tubular loops of mercury.

Just because the capacity and storage of mercury are applicable, it has increased its efficiency and longevity.

4.        Halogen lamps

Halogen lamps are one of the most recent creations of innovative bulbs. They are wrapped with tungsten filament with a compact design of a transparent envelope. Also, there is a small amount of halogen filling in these lamps, which are inherited with gas.

This improves their lifespan, efficiency, brightness, and build quality and makes them smaller.

5.        Light emitting diode

Commonly known as LED, there is no bulb better or superior to these. They are getting famous each day because of their lowest energy consumption and variety of light colors.

They have been negatively charged by the diode, resulting in faster and smoother electron flow. When these electrons flow, they release a photon. Thus, that emitted photon when combined with emitting light from the diode.
